Engineered oak floors can be more resistant to moisture and tend to be more stable. Engineered oak flooring is composed of two or more layers of wood in the form of a plank. The inner layers are made of plywood, high density fiberboard, or hardwood. The core layers make the product more stable than regular hardwood, while the outer veneer surface adds beauty and authenticity.
