LOYOLA INSTITUTE OF FRONTIER ENERGY (LIFE) is an interdisciplinary and collaborative research institute in Loyola College, Chennai. The basic tenet of LIFE is to promote a border-less, collaborative and interdisciplinary research in science with a balance between pure and applied sciences, and the ultimate view of translating the fruits of research for improving the quality of life of the society. The thrust areas are: Energy, Environment, Bioethics, Material Science, Awareness Education to Students and the Masses.

THEME

In the present scenario, Information and Communication Technology rule the minds of younger generation. The emergence of social media connects the unconnected, reaches the unreachable and includes the excluded. The social media networks which touch the hearts of all fields become very powerful tools in the areas of communication, society, culture, religion, industry, politics, education, evangelization, personal relationships, and etc. In addition, social media affects highly the psycho-spiritual wellness of humanity. Therefore, it is the need of the hour to be aware of social media and become responsible users. Otherwise, all users may miss the meaning in Life. In this context, Loyola Institute of Frontier Energy (LIFE), Loyola College, Chennai is organizing a one-day state level seminar on “Is Social Media a Boon or Bane for Life?” on November 24, 2018 (Saturday) at Seminar Hall, LIFE, Loyola College, Chennai-600 034.
