Olympic PostersWhat? An exhibition of pupil’s work based on the theme “Olympic

Posters”.

Why? To develop links between KEVICC and feeder primary schools. To start 2012 with an exciting school exhibition that could potentially attract press interest and offer our students an exciting opportunity.

When? January 2012 (with work to be completed by early December 2011)

Where? Ariel Centre, Totnes

Background Ever since the first Games of the modern era in Athens in 1896, posters

have played an important part in the popularization of the Olympics. They have also served, once every four years, to identify both the host city and a particular aesthetic linked to the global image of the Games of that year.

These posters can help us develop pupil’s knowledge and understanding about:

* The History of Posters and Graphic Design* International Politics and World History* Ideologies behind the Olympics
