Carmencita D.L. Rosales

HS 1954, AR 1960

Cita, as she is fondly called by her colleagues and

friends, holds many distinctions in her career as an

architect and environmental planner built on solid

educational foundation.

In secondary education, Cita Rosales was a

scholar and adjudged upon graduation in 1954 as

the most valuable senior being conferred the Angel

Castano Gold Medal by her alma mater. After a

short stint at the University of the Philippines, she

went to MIT in 1956 where she earned a

bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Planning in

1960. Thereafter, she pursued a degree in Civil

Engineering that was cut short in the 4 th year

when she became a recipient of the prestigious

United nation’s Fellowship that earned for her a

Diploma on Tropical Architecture at the

Architectural Association in London. (While in

London, she attended short courses in Structural

Design for Architects, Tropical Developments, as

well as individuals studies in Housing and

Planning.) In the intervening period in 1962, she

earned honor for MIT by garnering 7 th place in the

licensure for architects administered by the

Professional Regulation Commision (PRC).

Architect Gan is the company’s principal architect and managing
