I am a godmother to my best friend’s two sons who are now age 4 and 5. Some of my roles as a godmother include encouraging these boys in everything they do and want to become. The values I hold close to me are making time to try and

make a positive influence in children’s lives.

Aunty KweeenaI am an aunty to my niece who is now 3 years old. The occupations we engage in together and do involve a lot of playtime. My family values I hold form my self identity. Family and my niece play a big significance in my life.

PhotographyI am an amateur photographer. Photography and capturing scenery make me appreciate the land and landscape around me. Through photography I am doing. Capturing scenery around me is an aspect of my self identity as it makes me more appreciative of the land around me and what NZ has to offer.

A GranddaughterBeing a granddaughter holds a special place in my heart. The values instilled into me of appreciating my older generation and spending as much time with them as I can are an aspect that help form my occupational identity. My values I hold make up my occupational identity.

Big SisterThere is 8 years difference in age between my brother and I. I have many roles as a sister which included being a positive role model when my brother was younger, teaching him important family values and being there for him if he ever needed me. The role I play and the close family values I hold within me form my occupational identity.

Being a mumThe main occupation in my life is being a parent to my now 8 year old daughter. The lived experiences of becoming a new mum, learning new parent skills and the values of cherishing every moment with your child during my 8 years of being a parent has helped to form the person that I am today.

A studentI am an Occupational Therapy student. My interests as a 17 year old of nursing and looking after others intrigued me to start a journey towards pursuing my degree so I have a positive future ahead of my daughter and I.

FriendshipMy occupations include being a friend. My active participation in maintaining and being a friend forms the identity of I am today and why. My roles I have as a friend which include, being loyal, a good listener and shoulder to lean on when needed helps forms my identity of the person I am today

DaughterAnother main occupation in my life is that of being a daughter. My strong values of appreciating your family and putting family first has been aquired over time from my parents. This forms part of my self identity.

Camping and travelAnother occupation which is an aspect of my occupational identity are camping and travelling. I have had many lived experiences when I was young of travelling a lot with my parents and camping in tents which I why I do this as often as I can with my daughter. It forms my self identity as it taught me the value of spending time with family
