ModelSetupThepopsiclesticksaresimulatedbythree-dimensionallinearelasticsolidpartsinalatticepattern.Assembliesarecreatedusingapythonscript.Tangentialfrictionandnormalpressure-overclosurerelationsareusedtosimulatecontactbetweenthebeamsurfaces.Simulationsconsistofthefollowingsteps:

1.Sticksarearrangedinlatticepatternwithoverlap;2.Contactdefinedsticksurfacesandtheself-stressedstateisreached(static);3.Groundcontactwiththesticksisinitiated(CobraWeaveonly)(static);4.Contactisremovedforthetriggerstick(dynamic).
