1 - INTRODUCTION:
li - PROPERTY:
A diamond drill program was carried out during the month of February,
1996, by NUFORT RESOURCES INC., on the Company's BORDER
GROUP property located in Stoughton Twp., Ontario.
The drilling was undertaken by Hosking Diamond Drilling Co. of Rouyn-
Noranda and supervised by Exploration Services Reg'd.
Six holes were drilled totalling 2,346'. The holes targeted selected I.P.
anomalies within the framework of an ongoing exploration program of
this GOLD property.
The property consists of 6 contiguous claims containing 24 claim units;
The claim numbers are listed as follows:
1206069 - 1206071 - 1206072 - 1211471 - 1211656 - 1211657
-2-
III - LOCATION A ACCESSIBILITY:
The claim group lies partly on land and partly on Lake Abitibi. It is
located in the northeastern quadrant of Stoughton Twp. adjoining the
Ontario-Quebec provincial boundary. The property is located at an
approximate distance of 65 Km northeast of the town of Kirkland Lake.
The claim group is easily accessible from the town of Roquemaure, Qc.
by driving westwards along a range road for a distance of 8 Km. to the
provincial boundary. Bush roads then continue into the southern area
of the claim group.
IV - RESULTS OF DIAMOND DRILL PROGRAM:
DDH B-96-01:
Hole B-96-01 targeted an I.P. anomaly located at 0+50N on L 0. Two
zones of w graphitic tuffs w appear to be the cause of the anomaly.
This hole also intersected alteration zones, a section of which assayed
1071 PPB over a length of 5' between 285.5' and 290.5'.
DDH B-96-02:
Hole B-96-02 targeted an I.P. anomaly located at 1+50 N on line 4 E.
-3-
The cause of this anomaly remains promatical, the ^ conductive n zone
of graphitic tuffs was intercepted at a depth of 502'. It may have been
displaced by faulting.
This hole intercepted anomalous GOLD values of 499 PPB between 147'
and 148' within green carbonates containing quartz and some pyrite.
A second section assayed 525 PPB within similar environments between
543.8 and 546.2.
DDH B-96-03:
Hole B-96-03 targeted an I.P. anomaly located at 4+50 N on line 20E.
The graphitic tuff horizon intercepted between 128' and 144' is the
cause of the I.P. anomaly.
No significant assays were obtained from this hole.
DDH B-96-04:
Hole B-96-04 was drilled to test an I.P. anomaly located at 2+50 S on
line 16 W. This hole intersected 4 graphitic tuff horizons, any or all of
which could have contributed to the I.P. anomaly.
This hole also intersected a light green alteration zone containing l*Vo
disseminated pyrite. A 2.5' section of which assayed l 954 PPB Au .
-4-
DDH B-96-05:
Hole B-96-05 targeted an I.P. anomaly located at 2+50N an line 28 W.
This hole failed to intersect concentrations of sulfides or graphitic tuffs
The cause of the anomaly remains unexplained.
This hole did not intersect any alteration zones. No significant GOLD
assays were obtained.
DDH-96-06:
Hole B-96-06 targeted an I.P. anomaly located at 0+50S on line 26 W. No
graphitic tuffs were intersected in this hole; the hole did intersect,
however, a 6' zone containing disseminated pyrite A pyrrhotite between
119.6' and 126.0' which may explain the cause of the I.P. anomaly.
This hole also intersected a series of alterartion zones between 279' and
310' containing quartz, disseminated pyrite and some fuchsite., however,
these alteration zones did not yield any significant GOLD assays.
-5-
V - CONCLUSION:
Graphitic tuffs appear to have caused the targeted I.P. anomalies
of holes B-96-01, 02, 03 and 04. A zone of disseminated pyrite and
pyrrhotite appears to be the cause of the targeted I.P. anomaly in
hole B-96-06. Hole B-96-05 failed to explain the presence of the
targeted I.P. anomaly.
Alteration zones containing quartz, disseminated pyrite and some
fuchsite were observed in hole B-96-01, 02, 03, 04 and 06, however,
the highest GOLD value obtained within these zones assayed 1954 PPB
or 0.056 oz Au/T.
The chert and pyritic graphitic tuffs usually contain anomalous GOLD
values in the range of 50 to 800 PPB.
VI - RECOMMENDATIONS:
Even though the 1996 diamond drilling program intersected only low
GOLD values, the program, nevertheless, outlined numerous alteration
zones which could be considered as future exploration targets.
Respectfully submitted:
