Is it possible that summer is almost over? This season really did fly by. We had incredible registration for most of our summer
programs and terrific turnout at special events and concerts.
We are ready to jump into fall with a continuation of our successful programs and many new offerings. For pre-schoolers, we have a
new parent child indoor playground and art expressions with stories, art, music and movement.
New programs for teens include a hip hop class and an improv lounge.
Various new classes in crafts and art will be offered to adults as well as a new afternoon fitness class to music from the 1950’s.
In addition to October special events around Halloween we are teaming up with Branford & North Branford Parks and Recreation
Departments, Shoreline YMCA and the Ben Callahan Foundation for a Haunted Hayride in North Branford.
Thanks to Eagle Scout projects from Boy Scout Troop 4714 & 474, the disc golf course at Bittner Park is nearly completed. Though
many people have been playing the 18 hole course, an official grand opening has been scheduled for September 14.
As always, our Parks Maintenance crew under leadership of Tony Annicelli will be working hard to keep our athletic fields and parks in
top condition. We thank Program Coordinators Connor Negri & Taryn Erb and Recreation Supervisor Ellen Clow and Seniors
Coordinator Terry Buckley for their great work planning programs for the community. Sincerely,
Rick Maynard

Fascinated with elegant handwriting since grade school, I always looked forward to a visit from the pen-cil distributor, who also gave our class a pen-manship lesson; and have continued to prac-tice ever since. Today I take pride in my skills and continue to share my appreciation for elegant handwriting by offering classes in BASIC CALLIGRAPHY.

ESSENTRICS: is a low impact workout that rebalances your body by simultaneously stretching and strengthening all your muscles. This
dynamic stretching program develops lean, strong, flexible muscles and helps to unlock tight joints, with immediate benefits to your posture.
FIT AND FAB: A one hour full body workout class combining basic Low-Impact cardio movement with strengthening and toning exercises along with gentle stretching to help improve your overall well-being. Each class will be slightly different but will always begin with a warm up and end with a cool down stretch.
