Make Supporting CB Cares EF Your Bag at the Warrington GIANT
This month, support CB Cares Educational Foundation through the GIANT Food
Stores' Bags 4 My Cause program. Every time a reusable Bags 4 My Cause bag is
purchased at the GIANT in Warrington, CB Cares EF will receive $1.
As a nonprofit organization, CB Cares EF relies on gifts to support the
organization's programs. Since its founding, CB Cares EF has provided more than
$115,000 in grants to CBSD educators, recognized and empowered more than
22,000 students, and provided resources to thousands of parents.
Look! NEW MAGNET FOR ALL BOOMERANG NOMINEES
We are pleased to introduce a brand new magnet for all Boomerang Award
winners and nominees this year. For more than 16 years, CB Cares EF has
provided students who were either nominated or awarded the monthly
Boomerang Award with a range of incentives, from lanyards to clips. Most
students are recognized at their schools’ spirit assemblies or breakfasts. CB Cares
will be on the LOOK OUT to see how many students will be sporting these new
stylish magnets on their parents’ vehicles.

Samantha Rosinski Unami Middle School Grade 9
Samantha has been dedicated to her swim team since age 5. She is currently on the
Central Bucks team that requires 12 hours a week of practice. As a freshman, she will
probably have the opportunity to compete for her CB South HS this winter as well!
Although her time is dedicated between swimming and honors courses, she still finds
time to experience Unami’s TV cast, lacrosse team, and NJHS. She enjoys musical
theater and recently played Razoul in Aladdin. Being well rounded is important to her
and so she volunteered to be a counselor in training with Upper Gwynedd’s camp and
also was an advocate in training for Bucks County’s A Woman's Place peace camp over
the summer. Samantha is an excellent example of enthusiastically balancing activities
throughout the school and community by taking advantage of all the wonderful opportunities we have.
Gianna Forrest Barclay Elementary School Grade 4
Gianna spends many hours a week in sports, clubs, and organizations in school and the
community. Gianna takes musical theater and gymnastics once a week and enjoys
spending time with friends she has made in class. She has attended kenpo karate for the
past six years a minimum of twice a week and earned her junior blackbelt in June 2019.
She is currently working towards the goal of senior/adult blackbelt in June 2022. She has
been a member of her Girl Scout troop that meets twice a month for five years. She has
been training for American Ninja Warrior at Gravity Forge in Hatboro weekly for four
years. In February 2019 she qualified and competed in National Ninja League Worlds in
Connecticut. Once a week in the fall for the past two years Gianna has attended Skills
and Drills Basketball through DAA recreation. Gianna has been taking violin lessons weekly since the first
grade and joined other CB students at orchestra camp this summer at CB South under the direction of Mr.
Hensil. Gianna spends one Saturday a month giving back to the community in a program called “Students on
Tour,” where she visits local nursing homes and plays the violin for residents. Gianna plans to join the
Barclay Orchestra this school year. Through all of her activities Gianna is developing good sportsmanship,
promoting good citizenship, and a sense of pride in oneself.

Paige Sokolis CB West High School Grade 10
Many students have ideas of how to help make this world a better place, but it is the
exceptional student who implements a plan to make that happen. Paige is that student
who had a vision of helping to feed those in need, aligned herself with the Feed My
Starving Children Organization, and ultimately brought four bus loads of CB students to
Del Val to put that plan into place. Paige initiated every step of the process, including
contacting her future principal (Mr. Dononvan) before she arrived at CB West as a
sophomore this fall. Her teacher liaison was incredibly impressed with her organizational
skills and dedication to make this event roll out successfully. In addition to dedication to
FMSC, Paige is also involved with many other initiates including as a Lenape
Ambassador, a member of NJHS, and Peer Leader. Now that she is at West and embarking on her 10th grade
year, she has already joined SAGE, FBLA, Key Club, Spanish NHS, and Cooking for the Community. She is an
excellent example of how her volunteer work has shaped her character.

Tips for November’s Asset #15
POSITIVE PEER INFLUENCE
Research shows that young people whose closest friends behave
responsibly do better in school, get into less trouble, and choose
activities that give them the best chance of future success. It makes
sense for young people to surround themselves with people who
bring out their best qualities. In return, they can multiply the benefits
by being friends who are also positive influences. About 63% of
young people, ages 11–18, say their best friends model responsible
behavior, according to Search Institute surveys.
Tip for building this asset
Peer pressure is especially strong in school. When you notice trouble brewing or young people who are about to
make a poor choice—in school or elsewhere—remind them that they have the power to say no—even to a friend.
Also try this:
In your home and family: Identify people, stories, or images that exemplify the positive power of peers. Use these
examples to help your child make a collage of inspiring quotes and images for a friend.
In your neighborhood and community: Talk with young people in your neighborhood about the qualities you
admire in each of them. Encourage them to be a positive influence in the lives of their friends and peers.
In your school or youth program: Pair off students and participants. Have them take turns discussing a time when
they positively influenced a friend or peer. After each story, talk about how it felt to use positive peer pressure.
This month's alumni spotlight is on Tina Mazaheri who is a lifetime Doylestown resident,
attending Kutz, Lenape and CB East. She has been a Pennsylvania attorney for over 25 years with
a practice in Doylestown. She has a master’s degree in litigation and is also a licensed
Pennsylvania and New Jersey real estate broker.
Her favorite activity was playing on the tennis team, however she will tell you she loved being the wrestling manager
because the coach, John Tomlinson made it so much fun. She has several great high school memories, including
hosting a last day of school party every year where hundreds of people attended and still reminisce about it. Her best
high school experience came in picking her physics lab partner who later became her husband! If you ask her about a
favorite teacher, she will say she had so many amazing teachers, however three come to mind — Alexis Parkes, Susan
Mulholland and Rosemarie Montgomery, who she still keeps in touch with to this day.
Her advice to her younger self? Be confident in your abilities, take pride in your individuality, do not get lost in the
details, great things are yet to come.
Our Mission Statement:
CB Cares Educational Foundation, in partnership with Doylestown Health,
the Central Bucks School District, local businesses, and the community, is dedicated to enriching the experience of students
