Before Class Do reading assignments/homework

prior to class Be on time Sit toward the front of the class

During Class Board/Overhead = Write it

Down!!!(If the teacher thinks it is important enough to write it on the board, you will probably see it again on a test.)

Always put the date Use titles and subtitles

During Class (continued) Use key words/short phrases

Abbreviate when possible

Write on front of page only

During Class (continued) If you miss something, leave a

blank space

Use examples

Highlight important passages in your notes

After Class Check with classmates or

instructor to fill in any blanks

Reread notes as soon as possible to help ensure understanding
