What is Smoking???

Smoking refers to the inhalation and

exhalation of fumes from burning

tobacco in cigars, cigarettes and

pipes.

TYPES OF SMOKING

1. ACTIVE SMOKING

It  is a practice in which a substance,

most commonly tobacco, is burned

and the smoke is tasted or inhaled by

the person himself/herself

2.PASSIVE SMOKING

PASSIVE SMOKINGPassive smoking is the inhalation of

smoke, called second-hand

smoke (SHS), or environmental

tobacco smoke (ETS), by persons

other than the intended 'active'

smoker.

Reason for teenagers to smoke

They want to get attention

They are curious about cigarettes

Some wants to act cool or act like

someone special or dangerous

Peer pressure

EFFECT ON HEALTH

Hypertension

Heart disease

Lung disease

Lung, throat, stomach, and bladder

cancer

Increased risk of infections like

bronchitis and pneumonia.
