    CINCINNATIIn 24 hours, Joe Mixon

went from a worryinghospital visit with a myste-rious chest injury to bust-ing out for one of the bestgames of his career. The fourth-year running

back missed practice latein the week and said hewent to a hospital Saturdaywith pain in his chest anddifficulty breathing. Hedidn’t say exactly whatdoctors told him, but hethought he might havehurt himself by sleeping onit wrong.Mixon sure looked fine

Sunday, though, rushingfor 151 yards on 25 carrieswith two touchdowns andadding a third score on a9-yard swing pass fromrookie quarterback JoeBurrow in the Bengals’33-25 win over the Jack-sonville Jaguars.“The doctors loved up

on me, and I was able to goout there and make some

things work,” Mixon said. The Bengals (1-2-1)

rolled up 505 yards ofoffense, working throughor around some of theirrecent offensive line prob-lems to get their first win.Getting the running gameunstuck allowed somebetter looks downfield forBurrow, who became thefirst rookie in NFL historyto throw for 300 or moreyards in three consecutivegames. The Heisman Trophy

winner completed 25 of 36attempts for exactly 300yards and the touchdownto Mixon. After being hit 18 times

and sacked eight times in a23-23 tie against Philadel-phia last week, Burrowwent about his businesswithout much trouble fromthe Jaguars’ pass rush. Hewas sacked once.“The O-line played

really, really well today,”Burrow said. “They’vetaken a lot of heat the lastcouple weeks, and I wassuper happy for those guysto have the game they did

today and they’re going tocontinue to build on it. Iknow they are.”Gardner Minshew was

able to put up some goodnumbers, too, going 27 for40 for 351 yards and twotouchdowns for Jackson-ville (1-3).“We ran the ball well

today, threw it well attimes,” Minshew said.“We have to stay awayfrom drive killers, awayfrom turnovers, and I be-lieve we can be reallygood.”

    ROUGH BEGINNINGThe start was inauspi-

cious for Cincinnati. Afterlinebacker Jordan Evansintercepted a tipped Min-shew pass, the Bengalsstarted on Jacksonville’s40 and got nowhere, withBurrow overthrowing anopen A.J. Green on thirddown.Late in the first quarter,

Burrow had a 16-yardtouchdown pass to TylerBoyd negated by a holdingpenalty and the Bengalssettled for Randy Bullock’s35-yard field goal. Then, looking at third-and goalfrom the Jacksonville 1,Burrow threw one up forgrabs and was interceptedby linebacker Myles Jackin the end zone. The Bengals started

getting out of their ownway on a drive late in thefirst half that ended in thetouchdown pass to Mixonon a wheel route. Mixon

then got free and toredown the right side for a34-yard score to cap thefirst drive of the secondhalf, giving the Bengalstheir first lead, 17-13. Mix-on scored his third TD ofthe day on a run right upthe middle of the defense.

    REVOLVING KICKERSAldrick Rosas was added

to the Jacksonville rosterfrom the practice squadafter the team ran out ofkickers. Josh Lambo (hip)is on injured reserve, androokie BrandonWrightwas waived after straininghis right hamstring in aWeek 3 loss to Miami.Stephen Hauschka wassigned Monday but wasinactive because of sore-ness. Rosas, who was cutby the New York Giants inthe summer, was added

Saturday. He missed a48-yard attempt in the firstquarter but converted onfour others, including a50-yarder in the secondhalf.

    SPEAKINGOF KICKERSAfter missing a 31-yard

attempt that would havetied the Bengals’ openeragainst the Los AngelesChargers late in the fourthquarter, Bullock has beenperfect. He made all fourfield goal attempts andthree PATs against Jack-sonville. He has hit 12straight field goals andnine PATs since the miss.

INJURIESJaguars: CB CJ Hendersonleft in the first half with ashoulder injury and didn’treturn. Jack left with anankle injury in the first half

and also was ruled out. TETyler Eifert was beingevaluated for a concussion.CB D.J. Hayden (ham-string) left in the secondhalf and didn’t return.
