NextSTEPPROJECT – P2020

MAIN GOALSThis project aims to design and prototype a new Secondary Distribution Substation (SDS) combining different technologies ranging from Smart Grid sensing and automation to sustainable roofs for the substations enclosures.

ENEIDA.IO DEVELOPED TO NEXTSTEP A SET OF 5 SMART SENSORS:

EWS DTVI-m – a smart sensor to monitor the feeder pillars. With these data several use cases were developed (see Eneida Deepgrid);

EWS DTE-m – this smart sensor measures the Protective Earth (PE) and Neutral (N) resistances, as well as the voltage between PE and N. With these data, DSO can better manage the earthing systems over the SDS park.

WIRELESS SENSORS:

EWS DTPD-b – smart sensor addressing the condition of MV assets, from Partial Discharge evaluation;

EWS DTHT-b – temperature and moisture measurement inside and outside the SDS enclosure.

EWS DTT-b – temperature measurement on the Transformer's cover.

Data from wireless smart sensors is used as inputs to the ventilation control system, which contributes to the optimisation of the Transformer's capacity.
