ago at the elementary level. ●  A series of meetings were offered to provide feedback to the Design Team.

It is not being done in isolation…. ●  Everything must align: Birth to Grade 5 Study, Secondary Study, Special

Education Study, Community Education Study, Counseling and Advising Study, etc.

Tiered System of Interventions for Gifted Service

Overview-Elementary ●  Gifted and Talented Services

o  Staffing, Curriculum and Identification are consistent across all buildings

o  Intermediate Math and Reading: §  Tier II and Tier III services vary by building and classroom

●  Young Scholars

o  Services vary based upon three key elements: §  Needs of students §  Scheduling §  Staffing

Overview-Secondary ●  South View and Valley View Middle Schools

o  Gifted Resource Teacher at each middle school o  GT Reading in grade 6 o  Additional opportunities for GT-identified learners:

§  extra-curricular and co-curricular activities to ignite interest §  Curricular choices assist in meeting student needs

o  No formal program. Opportunities for GT-identified learners: §  extra-curricular and co-curricular clubs, teams, and academic

competitions §  While Advanced Placement is not part of the gifted program, course

offerings assist in meeting individual student needs
