Message from the President
Welcome to 2018, my friends. I hope everyone had a great holiday with their friends and family. A lot
has happened through the past year, we completed many events to include our annual car show, NWACC Ban-
quet, and LeMay Car show. We still have a few months together with the cur-
rent executive board. However, this brings up a few items up for discussion.
This month we will be voting on a few hot topic issues for the upcoming year.
First, we will have to ensure we have an executive board by starting the nomi-
nations this month and turning in our votes during the February meeting. An-
other voting opportunity during this time will be for the Brad Johansson
Award which is given out each year to the club member who has made the
most beneficial impact to G.O.C.C over the past year. The last choice we will
have to make is to decide whether we will be holding another car show this
coming year or not. This January meeting will be a very important and influ-
ential one, so I would love to see a large number of our current membership in
attendance. We will also be creating a committee for the G.O.C.C annual ban-
quet on March 10th 2018. Therefore, we will need some dedicated members to
assist Vice President Dave Van Asten in making a committee to undertake the
necessary jobs to ensure its success. These jobs include such positions as
decorating, raffle prizes, and entertainment. This month
will be busy for all of us, I thank you all ahead of time for
your continued dedication and support of our club. Again,
I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing your
smiling faces during this important meeting.
Respectfully, Donovan GOCC President (2017) - Corvettes/Fun/Friendship

Go On, Surprise Us Each month, scattered throughout the pages of our newsletter, are articles meant for your input, offering an invitation to you, dear reader, to be-come an active participant in this magazine. There are any number of ways to get your car, your thoughts, or both onto these pages. In the interest of making it as easy as possible for you to join in the fun, here is a helpful list of all the ways you can participate. Readers’ Replies: We’re always interested in your thoughts about the Newsletter: Email the editor, listed on page 1.
Corvette of The Month: This is where we invite you to share your passion for your car with your fellow enthusiasts. Simply provide one or two high-resolution photos of your car (or collection of cars), and a little background from you on the experience of owning the car—how long you’ve had it, where you found it, what you’ve done to it and what you love about it. Alternately, the Newsletter Editor can interview you and write the article. Trip or Event: Do you have a great story about a trip or event you participated in, it might be a good candidate for a one-page feature. Tech Talk: If you’ discovered some wisdom about operating or maintaining Corvettes, this is the place to share. Vette-Trivia: Have a little-known fact about Cor-vettes? Send it in to the Editor. Maybe we’ll print it! For Sale: Got something you want to sell? Let us know. Hidden Number: Yes, there IS a hidden number in this month’s newsletter and if it’s YOUR mem-bership number, let the V.P. know you found it and you’ll get first pick at the raffle table!
Attention members aged 50 and older!! You may be eligible to save on your auto insurance by taking a driver safety course. Dave Elling-son is teaching a course on January 17 & 18 at the Poulsbo Fire Station. 4 hours each day. Web site: http://www.aarp.org/drive Search and register for available courses online and register or call Dave at (360) 779-4414.

On January 1st, the weather was perfectly beautiful, and a record number of people showed up for the New Year’s Cool Car Cruise-In at the Silverdale Mall. Entries included hotrods, classic cars, vintage and modern muscle cars, low
riders, imports, race cars, a few exotics, and decent number of Corvettes! The Crusin Bremerton Saturday Nights organization stated on social media outlets an estimated 1,200 cars made an appearance during the day.
The Callaway attracted many lookers

Oddly, C7’s were kinda scarce. C2’s, C3’s, and C4’s each outnumbered C7’s.
