1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT REMOVE ANY EXISTING ROOFING SYSTEM,DAMAGED DECKING, OR INSTALL NEW ROOFING SYSTEM WHEN WEATHERCONDITIONS THREATEN THE INTEGRITY OF THE BUILDING CONTENTS OROCCUPANTS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLETE EACH DAY'S ROOFING CYCLEAND PROVIDE A WELDED OR FOAMED TEMPORARY SEAL AT JUNCTION OF NEWROOF AND EXISTING ROOF. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN A WATERPROOFCOMPLETED AREA WITH EACH ROOFING CYCLE. NO TOLERANCES WILL BE GIVEN.

6. THE CONTRACTORS SHALL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUAINT THEMSELVESWITH ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS AT THE PREBID AND BY APPOINTMENT IFSECONDARY INSPECTION IS NEEDED. NO ALLOWANCES SHALL BE MADE FORCONDITIONS THAT ARE CLEARLY VISIBLE OR DETECTABLE WITH SOME RESEARCHEFFORT.
7. THE LOADING AREA AVAILABLE AT GROUND LEVEL IS A FIRE, EMERGENCY ANDSECURITY ACCESS AREA, A STRICT SCHEDULE FOR STAGING OF DELIVERIES ANDCRANING OF MATERIAL MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE CONTRACTOR TO THEOWNER REPRESENTATIVE, SO THAT THE OWNER MAY COORDINATE ALLNECESSARY PERMITS. ALL MATERIALS WILL HAVE TO BE STORED ON THE ROOFAREAS AND IN STAGING AREA, AS WELL AS SANITARY FACILITIES.
8. NO EMPLOYEES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING. ESCORTED SECURITY WILLNEED TO BE SCHEDULED FOR THE FOLLOWING: ACCESS TO THE ROOF AND ACCESSTO AREAS WITHIN THE BUILDING NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE SCOPE OF WORK.
9. BEFORE ANY UTILITY CUT OFFS OR DEMOLITION IS TO OCCUR, A SCHEDULE MUSTBE SUBMITTED TO THE ARCHITECT. A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEK'S ADVANCENOTICE OF WORK IS REQUIRED. WORK SCHEDULES WILL BE REQUIRED TO BESUBMITTED TO THE OWNER REPRESENTATIVE TWICE WEEKLY, ANTICIPATING THENEXT WEEK'S WORK.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE LICENSED PLUMBING, MECHANICAL ANDELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS TO REMOVE AND REINSTALL ALL EXISTING EQUIPMENTON THE ROOF. ALL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE FULLY OPERATIONAL WHENREINSTALLED. CONTRACTOR'S WORK SHALL MEET CURRENT APPLICABLE BUILDINGCODES.
11. THE ROOFING CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE FASTENERS AS REQUIRED FORCORROSIVE AGENTS ADDED TO TREATED WOOD NAILERS (IF PRESERVED WOODSARE USED) AND AS RECOMMENDED BY THE ROOFING MANUFACTURER AND ASREQUIRED FOR THE WARRANTY.
12. ALL ROOFING SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE BUILDING IN ACCORDANCE WITH FM1-75 WIND UPLIFT FASTENING PATTERN AND ASCE 7 REQUIREMENTS.
13. THE DETAILS SHOWN IN DRAWINGS AND PLANS ARE FOR INTENT. THE MOSTSTRINGENT REQUIREMENTS BETWEEN CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS,MANUFACTURERS' DETAILS, SMACNA REQUIREMENTS AND NRCARECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE REQUIRED.
14. ALL AREAS TO RECEIVE NEW ROOFING MEMBRANE SHALL BE INCORPORATED INTOROOFING WARRANTY, INCLUDING NEW WALL AND PARAPET MEMBRANE WORK.WARRANTY SHALL INCLUDE ALL PENETRATIONS, FLASHING AND TERMINATIONS.CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND INSTALL ALL FLASHINGS, TRIM, SEALANTS,NAILERS, MATERIALS, ETC. 17. PREDRILL ALL METAL FLASHING/ COUNTER FLASHING MATERIAL PRIOR TOINSTALLING FASTENERS.
18. THESE DRAWINGS INDICATE, IN GENERAL, ITEMS OF MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENTWHICH MUST BE REMOVED, REUSED, REFINISHED OR MODIFIED. NOTIFY OWNER/ ARCHITECTIN WRITING PRIOR TO STARTING WORK IF ANY DAMAGES ARE PRESENT.DAMAGES NOT REPORTED WILL BE CONSIDERED NEW AND CONTRACTOR WILL BERESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS. 1. TREATED WOOD FASTENERS:ALL FASTENERS USED IN WOOD THAT HAS
BEEN PRESSURE TREATED WITH PRESERVATIVES MUST BE HOT DIPPED
GALVANIZED COATED, STAINLESS STEEL OR APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE
FASTENER MANUFACTURER FOR USE IN TREATED WOOD.
2. CHEMICAL TREATING WOOD NAILER FOR FIRE RESISTANCE OR OTHER
PURPOSE MAY AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PVC MEMBRANE AND
ACCESSORIES. CONSULT MANUFACTURER'S TECHNICAL SERVICES
DEPARTMENT REGARDING COMPATIBILITY.
3. DISCARD UNITS OF MATERIAL WITH DEFECTS THAT MIGHT IMPAIR QUALITY
OF WORK AND UNITS THAT ARE TOO SMALL TO USE IN FABRICATING WORK
WITH MINIMUM JOINTS OR OPTIMUM JOINT ARRANGEMENT.
4. THE NAILER HEIGHT MUST MATCH THE TOTAL THICKNESS OF INSULATION.
WHERE TAPERED INSULATION IS USED, THE WOOD NAILER MUST BE
TAPERED SO THAT IT WILL ALWAYS BE FLUSH AT THE POINT OF CONTACT
WITH THE INSULATION (REFER TO DETAILS). SET NAILERS TO REQUIRED
LEVELS AND LINES WITH MEMBERS PLUMB AND TRUE.
5. TOP OF PERIMETER NAILERS SHALL BE UNIFORMLY FLASH WITH THE TOP
OF INSULATION.
6. NAILERS SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH 1/4" GAP BETWEEN ENDS OF
ADJOINING PIECES.
7. NAILERS SHALL BE FASTENED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING
SCHEDULE:
a. FASTENERS IN 6" OR WIDER (NOMINAL) LUMBER SHALL BE INSTALLED
IN TWO (2) ROWS, STAGGERED ONE-THIRD OF NAILER WIDTH.
b. TREATED WOOD FASTENERS: ALL FASTENERS USED IN WOOD THAT
HAS BEEN PRESSURE TREATED WITH PRESERVATIVES MUCT BE HOT
DIPPED GALVANIZED COATED, STAINLESS STEEL OR APPROVED IN
WRITING BY THE FASTENER MANUFACTURER FOR USE IN TREATED
WOOD.
c. CORNER FASTENER SPACING IS 1/2 OF THE PERIMETER SPACING
(DOUBLE THE FASTENERS) AND SHALL EXTEND 8FT MAXIMUM FROM
ALL OUTSIDE BUILDING CORNERS.
d. WHERE TWO OR MORE NAILERS ARE INSTALLED, EACH NAILER SHALL
BE FASTENED INDEPENDENTLY.
e. OVER ALL DECK TYPES, THE BOTTOM NAILER SHALL BE FASTENED
USING THE SPECIFIED FASTENERS AND 5/8" DIAMETER WASHERS.
