SICK LEAVE BENEFITS
Sick leave is accrued at the rate of 1.0 day per month
Unused sick leave counts towards additional service time at retirement – SAVE YOUR SICK LEAVE!
Extended Sick Leave – up to 20 days per year - available to classroom teachers and media specialists who have exhausted all sick and annual leave
Voluntary Shared Leave – For employees with a serious medical condition
Personal leave
Personal Leave is available only to classroom teachers and media specialists who are not allowed to take annual leave on student days
Earn .2 days per month Accrue up to 5 days May use on some students days and will pay a
$50 mandatory deduction May use on Optional Teacher Workdays
without the $50 deduction Reimbursement of $50 if no substitute is called.

Session 1: 1-1:30; Session 2: 1:45-2:15; Session 3: 2:30-3:00; Session 4: 3:00-3:30-each room will participate in a GoTo Meeting with Barry Pace to hear about updates in Buncombe County Schools and a time for Q and A.
Session Locations: Conference Room B - New Spaces in the Media Centers-come and
understand how our media centers are being transformed into active and creative areas that relate to your curriculum. (Seating limited to 40 participants)
Professional Learning Room #1- Digital Project Integration in a Classroom-experience digital project creation incorporating Green Screen, Stop Motion, iPads and other resources that keep learners engaged. (Seating limited to 35 participants)
Professional Learning Room #2- Google Mail and Drive-learn the basics of your Google Account for Mail, Collaboration, and Communication. (Seating limited to 24 participants)
Digital Learning Lab- DISCOVERY EDUCATION- claim your Discovery Education account and learn about the resources available to make your classroom engaging and interactive. (Seating limited to 30 participants)
