It is the only broadcast network that does not run commercials.

NETWORK AFFILIATES
The network affi liate is responsible for providing some of its own programming.

AFFILIATES
The networks only provide two hours of dailyprogramming. This is usually 8:00-10:00pm with the exception of sports programming.

NETLETS AND AFFILIATES
Syndication- the sale of the rights to broadcast a program to multiple stations without using a broadcast network.
FIRST RUN SYNDICATION- A program runs in syndication and airs an episode for the fi rst time without being on a broadcast network.
SYNDICATED PROGRAMS
OFF-NETWORK SYNDICATION- the sale of a program that was originally shown on a network. Can be considered a “re-run”.

RATINGS- Percentage of people watching a show who own or have a television.
For example, Two and a Half Men has a rating of 12.2. That means that 12.2% of the total population was watching that show.
SHARES- Percentage of people watching a show who have a television on at that time. A smaller sample of people.For example, Two and a Half Men has a share % of 15, which means 15% of all people w/ a tv on were watching it.
