Necto 16 Training Dimension Selector

Overview

• Dimension Selector is a way to quickly and easily create a view

• Only Meta data is used so it is very fast to manipulate

• Drag and drop interface gives a more intuitive option for view manipulation not just creation

Dimensions Selector Location

The dimensions selector appears in two places in Necto:

1) New View creation wizard2) Modify the current view with the

‘ Dimension Selector’

ModesThe dimension selector has three optional modes (all shown in new view Wizard).

1) Simple – Just showing default Slicers, Columns and Rows2) Dimensions – shows Simple plus the option to add more dimensions

from the cube3) Preview – shows Simple plus a visualization of the crosstab that you are

creating (along with other options).

Simple Mode • Drag and drop Dimensions from the Slicers area to either Rows or

Columns• Select, Slice & Dice and many more functions

Simple Mode (Slicers Area) • We offer the ability to Slice (Simple/Advanced), Select/Remove and

Show non-empty members for Dimensions• Slice and Select/Remove members for Measure dimensions

Slicing• Slice Simple

Single pane to select single or multiple members Can search for members
