NOTES FROM YOUR EDITOR . .
W elcome everyone to our Q3 issue of
the NCR REA newsletter. I hope
you’re enjoying the summer months
and looking forward to the rest of
this great season, as well as the coming of fall. As the
grandfather of a soon-to-be 4-year-old granddaughter,
plus a new arrival this December, I’m already making
elaborate plans for the Holidays! Can’t wait!
In the meantime, I am very excited about the
upcoming reunion. As always, the REA has put a lot
of effort into the event, which should make for a great time. If you haven’t
made plans to attend but want to, please do so as soon as
possible. See pages 13-15 for all pertinent information. I hope to
see you there.

NCR Pension Buyout Offer
Your trustees and administrator have received many phone calls and emails
requesting input or comments regarding the NCR Pension Buyout Offer.
We have referred these calls and emails to the Fidelity Call Center, and
recommend that each eligible person be guided by information received
from his/her financial advisor or Fidelity.
The subject was discussed in detail at the trustee’s meeting on July 14, and
we felt that working through Fidelity is the best course of action.

The word "Lexphillie" is used to describe phases or sentences that play on words. For example,

with the best lexphillie. Below are entries that have been submitted over time.

Technology Association of Georgia Recognizes NCR as a Top 10 Innovative Company
Consumer transaction technologies leader joins prestigious list of companies leading a tech evolution in Georgia DULUTH, GA – April 10, 2014 – NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), announced today it is a recipient of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) "Top 10" Award, as one of Georgia's 10 most innovative technology companies. TAG is the state's leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia's technology industry. The “Top 10” most innovative technology companies are chosen from among TAG’s "Top 40" 2014 list and were chosen based on a number of criteria, including: degree of innovation; scope and financial impact of innovation; likelihood of success; and promotion of Georgia's innovative efforts nationally and internationally. “The Top 10 Awards are given to an elite group of companies whose products and solutions are not only changing their respective industries, they are also putting Georgia on the map as a state where technology innovation can thrive,” said Tino Mantella, president and CEO of TAG. “We applaud each of these companies for standing out as leaders in Georgia’s technology community and being showcased as such at our annual Georgia Technology Summit.” NCR was recognized for its innovation in designing and developing its innovative NCR Mobile Pay solution in the state of Georgia. NCR Mobile Pay enables consumers to take action instead of waiting. Restaurant patrons can easily review an order, add to it, tip and pay, and take a survey – all directly from their smartphone. NCR Mobile Pay transforms the guest experience while also improving order accuracy, increasing speed of service and reducing the potential of credit card fraud for restaurant operators. “The competition for Top 10 recognition was particularly fierce this year,” said Dennis Zakas, a partner and founder of Zakas & Leaonard, LLP, Chair of Group Office Buys, LLC, and chairperson of the Top 40 Selection Committee. “The Top 10 demonstrate the depth and breadth of Georgia’s technology community. We are pleased to recognize this group of companies and believe that the community will be just as impressed as we are by their innovation and impact on Georgia’s technology industry.” ”Our goal is to make everyday transactions easier for our customers and consumers,” says Kim Eaton, president, NCR Hospitality. ”This prestigious award from the Technology Association of Georgia recognizes the important work that NCR’s employees do every day on behalf of our customers, helping them innovate and deliver exceptional banking, shopping, traveling and dining experiences.” The complete list of TAG 2014 Top 10 Innovative Companies includes: ·
M2SYS Technology

NCR recognized for its global leadership development program
Leader in consumer transaction technologies wins prestigious 2014 Leadership 500 Excellence Award DULUTH, Ga., May 7, 2014 — NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, has been recognized for its “Leading for Success” global leadership development program as part of the 2014 Leadership 500 Excellence Awards. This year’s award recipients were recently unveiled by HR.com and Leadership Excellence at the Global Leadership Excellence Forum. "Leadership is an art that requires constant practice and focus to master,” said Debbie McGrath, CEO of HR.com. "The award winners from the 2014 Leadership 500 Excellence Awards program are the top firms with outstanding leadership programs from over 1,250 nominated companies. To be in the top 10 percent of any category is truly spectacular, and it's a true demonstration of the hard work and effort by these great companies.” A commitment to investing in training and development for leaders and employees is a key tenet in NCR’s transformation into a hardware-enabled, software-driven business. Today, NCR enables more than 485 million transactions daily across retail, financial, travel, hospitality, telecom and technology, and small business. Since launching the four and one-half day leadership development experience, “Leading for Success,” in 2012, more than 800 NCR leaders from across the globe have completed the customized training. Led by members of the Human Resources and executive teams, leaders focus on four critical areas: developing leadership skills, improving coaching skills, gaining a greater understanding of NCR’s business strategy and understanding how employees help to drive customer success. “Leadership is a cornerstone of any successful company,” said NCR Chairman and CEO Bill Nuti. “By bringing in the best talent and giving managers the tools and business knowledge to inspire, motivate and lead our 29,000 employees on our journey of reinvention, we build the foundation for continued success for NCR and our customers.”

FROM OUR MEMBERS
I started out as a student cash-register salesman
with the National Cash Register Co. in 1960. At
that time, there was only one other company
better known in the world--Coca Cola.
The urge to look at an old, mechanical cash register
and call out its model number never goes away. The
model numbers meant something, and all cash-register
salesmen understood the system.
Here's a cash register I saw in a Hofbrau in Dusseldorf.
The serial number is 1,095,777, which means it was
made in 1912.
The model number, 562-E-6C, means it is a
model 500, has 6 rows of keys, 2 totals, it’s
electric, and has 6 cash drawers.
Very beautiful still!

O ver the years, NCR has used
a variety of promotional or
“test” notes to:
Market new products and services.
Test new devices, such as ATMs and
currency counters.
Train customers on new equipment
and systems.
These are just a few samples of the many
test notes from NCR’s past.
