Naba design 

In Naba Design you can learn different things from that which is learnt (and taught) in other design schools.  Different things. But what and how?

What is design (and what is design in Naba)?

To design means finding solutions, and understanding how to resolve a problem with respect to a given set of constraints.This is the craft of a designer.

Solve problems in unexpected ways, turning various constraints (economic, temporal, cultural, social) into resource.

Resulting in useful, intelligent and beautiful objects (physical and digital, tangible and intangible…)

What is a designer?

Let's say that design, first and foremost, is about telling stories.

Interesting, fascinating, and engaging stories.Of course, to tell stories we need to know the tricks of the trade, how it's done.

What is a designer?

From this point of view there is no separation between conceptual and practical activities: a director tells his stories with the medium of a film, the writer using the medium of the novel.

A designer uses objects, spaces, services.

A designer can be understood as a narrator.

A narrator of other possible worlds.

Design in Naba is understood through social skills, the ability to collaborate with others, to try and imagine the world in a radically different way.

Students learn the so-called "soft skills" (ie, those skills that the job market demands in any industry, scope, or period).

Hard skills                                      Design studio experience

Year 1Manual and digital design, knowledge of essential software, theory of color and form, art history, working with materials (paper, wood, metal, plastic).

Year 2history of art, technology and technical materials, anthropology, marketing, design systems.

Year 3Thesis lab (final project), interaction design, design culture, design management and urban design
