MySQL Installation Steps 1. Run the file mysql-5.5.15-win32.exe file and click Next button.

2. Select I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next.

3. Choose the setup type as Typical.

4. Click Install to start the installation process.

5. Click Next.

6. Click Next.

7. Choose Launch the MySQL Instance Configuration Wizard and click Finish.

8. Click Next.

9. Choose Detailed Configuration and click Next.

10. Choose Developer Machine and click Next.

11. Choose Multifunctional Database and click Next.

12. Click Next.

13. Choose Decision Support (DSS)/OLAP and click Next.

14. Choose Add firewall exception for this port and click Next.

15. Choose Standard Character Set and click Next.

16. Choose Include Bin Directory in Windows PATH and click Next.

17. Enter the New root password and enter the Confirm password and click Next.

18. Select and copy the path available in the Address bar by pressing Ctrl+C.

MySQL Working – Command Line Steps 19. Select Start Programs MySQL MySQL Server 5.5 MySQL 5.5 Command

Line Client.

20. Enter the password given by you while installing the MySQL and press Enter key.

21. To come out of the MySQL, type \q and press Enter ley.

MySQL Working – GUI Steps 1. Select Start Programs MySQL MySQL Query Browser.

2. Enter the Sever Host as localhost, Username as root and Password and click Ok.

3. Select the Do not show this message anymore and click Ignore button.

4. It will open a window as shown below:

5. To exit from the MySQL Query Browser, select File exit.

Useful Commands: 1. To Create New Schema, right click on the Schemata and select Create New Schema.

2. Enter the Schema name and click Ok.

3. To select the database double click on it, rit.

4. To create a table, Right Click on the database and choose Create New Table.

5. Enter the Table Name.

6. Add the required Column Name, Data type and click Apply Changes.

7. Click the Execute button and click Close.

8. The table gets created under the rit database.

9. To display the structure of the table type describe table name; and click the Execute button.

10. Select the table, Right Click and choose Edit Table.

11. Do the required changes and click Apply Changes button.

12. Click Execute.
