Welcome to Chongqing
• There are many historically important monuments in Chongqing where history is unfolded. The many
magnificent monuments and the history attached with the destination makes it one of the top historical
destinations in the world.
C Qi Kou• This famous porcelain village is a reflection of the ancient times of Chongqing and was declared a cultural site in
the year 1998.
• The tea bars, artists’ studios and Shu Embroidery workshops are three noteworthy attractions that should be
visited in the village.
Hongya Cave
• Seventeen gates were built to protect Chongqing during the Ming dynasty, and Hongya was one of the 8 closed
gates used specifically for military matters. The lower right of this Hongya gate has a cave which has seen days of
lovely streams that joined the Yangtze.
Jiefang Monument • The Chongqing People’s Liberation Monument also known as the ‘Jiefang Monument’ is situated in the heart of
the city.
• This was built in the year 1945 to commemorate the victory over the Japanese in World War 2.
Ghost City of Fengdu • This city is dedicated to the concept of afterlife and is situated on the north bank of the Yangtze river.
• The mystical region comprises of shrines, buildings, life-like statues portraying aspects of the underworld or hell,
as well as combine teachings of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.
Zhazi Cave
• Also known as the Zha Zi Dong, the Zhazi
Cave shares the history of the mountains
during the period of the war.
• Founded in 1920, it was used as a prison in the
year 1938 for revolutionaries.
