Music Magazine Double Page Spread Breakdown

I took a studio shot of the artist/model in motion. Then changing the hue and saturation I filtered most of the colours to leave it black and white left as an effect for the picture. By placing it on the whole of the left side the form of the text is already set to it should have a clear structure.

As the text had already been typed before hand on a word document I took a line that is inspirational, short and effective to place over the image”

The title uses sibilance (“S” sounding alliteration) to make it catchy and appeal to the reader when approaching this page also as it is an interview the slight play on words with the phrase “inside the savage mind” makes it more interesting to read.

For the introduction I created a shape firstly then typed inside the shape to fit the text in, then removing the shape to just leave the text.

To make the “W” indented and larger than the text I used shift to create space at the beginning of each line then using a separate layer typed a larger “W” and positioned it in the indent

The same technique was used for each individual paragraph of this text. I create a shape the used the text tool to create a text box equal to the size of the shape and typed in the content. To make sure all boxes were the same I duplicated the layer before erasing it.

For the second pull quote the text used was longer. Also by placing into the middle of where the text would be placed it attracts the readers eye to important bits of the text.it also uses the same technique of creating a shape and filling with text.

Because of the pull quote placed in the centre the next pieces of text were formed around so the structure and layout on the page was still clear.

Finally adding a closing paragraph with additional information that could not be included in the interview like album date release.

More details that were included for realism. This black shape is the beginning of a banner that states what this page is about.

On the banner I placed the artist name “Scorpzy” and the phrase “World Exclusive” which is consistent throughout the whole magazine.

Another detail that adds to realism is the page numbers on the bottom of both pages. The style is the same for all page numbers throughout the magazine.

Finally another shape that is the banner which has an advert for more exclusive content with “Scorpzy” online.
