THE FOXES’ NATURAL OBJECT MUSEUM
October 2010
Getting ready for our museum
“We need dinosaur bones to make our classroom look like a real museum.”
“The dinosaurs were the best part because we saw real bones of dinosaurs in London.”
We made signs, labels, invitations and tickets
Stations at the ready!
“I liked saying The Museum is Open!”
The Geologists!
“I love the rock table because we can
clean the dust off the stones. One
stone fell from outer space. A creature
is inside but I have no idea what it is.”
The Rock Table
”Look Ms Rosie, you can even write
with this one on another rock.”
“We banged the rocks together and then we used the dust from the rocks to make an
explosion.”
The Shell Experts
“I liked it when they said you can hear the ocean in one of the shells.”
“ I like the clay impressions of natural objects because everyone liked it and touched it carefully.”
“Quick, get ready they’re coming.”
“I liked giving the tickets and floor plans out the best.”
The Mystery Table“It feels kind of bumpy.”
The Botany Table
Mr Fox’s HouseAfter reading ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’, the Foxes wanted to build a new house for Mr Fox since his was
destroyed. We built a secret tunnel inside it and decided to cover it in natural objects. Mr Fox’s House and the secret tunnel became a top feature at our Museum.
“My favourite part of the museum was when we made the magic trick with Mr Fox’s house. I had Mr Fox and I put him through the hole and then someone else got him from the
other side.”
