ALTRAN ITALIA

MARKET DRIVERS

Time to market and development costs reduction are some of the most important target during project activities of new mechanical systems in every industrial sector.

CAE analysis is the most important method to reach these targets

Altran has developed a CAE competence center in order to perform the most important virtual analysis requested by the market,

CAE Competence center is able to perform analysis and to develop new methodologies for the following analysis types:

FEM analysis

CFD analysis

Multibody analysis

Virtual validation Solution

o About 100 employees working in research & development.

o Consolidated project management approach.

o Structured working flows and operative procedures for both

Product and Innovation development processes.

o Product development supported by advanced virtual validation

methods in both Design and Lab test stages.

o The company holds the patents related to the technology of its machines.

N&W is leader for the production of vending machine and it is always in research of innovative solutions:

Aim of the project

The aim of the project is to optimize a mechanical system of a vending machine .

The optimization targets are :

• Remove or reduction of impact phenomenas

• Generation of a smoothly motion

• Reduction of engine torque

• Structural improvement of engine frame

System

The system is composed by :

• Cam

• Screaper

• Shifter

During its work the system is able

to produce hot beverage through an

infusion process

MB Model

• MB Model is composed by rigid

bodies.

• There are contacts between :

• Cam & scraper

• Cam & shifter

• Poisson contact model with

coloumb friction is used in the

model

• Costant speed rotation is applied

on the center of the cam
