Admission Criteria Competitive Admission 2.75 Minimal HPA 4 year Bachelor’s Degree 30 Credit Hours in the Social Science Area Suitability to the profession; i.e. relevant
work experience, volunteer work, field work, internship
Admission ProcessApplicants for the Wayne State University (WSU) Master of Social
Work (MSW) Degree Program complete one application. Apply and submit all application material online at http://gradapply.wayne.edu
This includes fee, submission of official transcripts, resume, Personal
Interest statement, and 3 references. No GRE is required.
• The Personal Interest Statement is to be between 3-5 pages, typed, double spaced, 12 point font, 1-inch margins
• 3 References - No personal references; i.e. co-workers, friends, or therapist.
If you previously submitted an application to the School of Social Work or the WSU graduate school, please contact the Wayne State University – School of Social Work, Office of Admissions and Student Services for directions on submitting additional application material.
