Knowledge Map

137 Questions - this is the information you should know at the end of 6th grade science

Every Wednesday - Learning Check (like a quiz)on 15 random questions from map

You will track your progress - p. 4 of NBI will track the class progress - on the door

Let’s Finish Lesson 5

Page 3 - Day 16 Count and note how many Lemna you see?

Label all the pond ingredients and use a ruler to show where each is located

Pond Observation - Micro

C’s get pond from back of room for your tableeveryone else - to stations and set-upYou will take one drop of pond water - using the pipette and place it into a depression slide. You will take a second drop of water and make a 2nd depression slide. 2 microscopes.

Look for any organisms and draw any you see - 2 drawings on medium

Micro - TIPS for SUCCESS

Adjust the diaphragm of microscope - less light!

Start on low and scan for organisms - move to medium power when you see movement

2 samples and try to get at least one sample from down lower in your pond (near rice)

Pond Observation - Micro

A’s responsible for cleaning (rinse in water) the slides and pipette and putting back in bin

B’s responsible for putting microscope away

Pond Observation - Macro

This is day 16
