JCCC Campus Farm History

• Originally created through a grant-funded partnership with Kansas State University, circa 2007-2008

• Originally located 20 miles from JCCC’s Main Campus, on K-State property

• With the dissolution of the partnership, the farm “moved” to the main campus

• In the fall of 2010, roughly 2.5 acres of field space was dedicated to chemical-free vegetable production

• Support for the Sustainable Agriculture Entrepreneurship Certificate Program

• Focus on “Local Marketing”

• Produce is used primarily on-campus

• Focus on manual farming techniques
