What is middle CAS?

Creativity Action Service

Glee club Drama performance Learning a musical Instrument Dance Trashion Design club

Soccer Touch rugby Swimming Horse riding Fitness training

Raising money for a cause Raising awareness Peer mentoring/tutoring Recycling club Orphanage visits Running an ASA

Discuss  the  following  middle  CAS  idea  with  your  table  group:  

 • Do  you  consider  it  to  be  a  valid  ac<vity?  • How  could  it  be  improved?  

A good middle CAS activity has the following elements:

An  adult  supervisor.  

Collabora<on,  communica<on  and  reflec<on.

How are students monitored and assessed for middleCAS?

Year  7-­‐9:  4  learning  outcomes  

Years  10  and  11:  6  learning  outcomes  60  hours  over  the  two  year  period

How can parents support their children in middleCAS?

• Share  your  passions  • Table  talk  • Meaningful  service  • Take  them  with  you  • Include  sharing  in  their  allowance  • Books/films  that  encourage  service  mindedness
