ESCALATORS:
33 KV 50 Hz 3 o supply is obtained from CESC at 4 receiving sub-station.
These sub-station are inter-countered with MR 33 KV feeder cable laid through the tunnel.
33 KV is stepped down to 11 KV at receiving sub-station.
Except Rabindra Sadan, all other Metro Railway Stations are having two independent feeders.

Third Rail System
• Technical assistance extended by OSAKA Municipal Transport Bureau for 3rd rail
current collection and rolling stock design.
• Air condition and ventilation of OSAKA Metro was adopted as climatic condition are same i.e. high humidity and temperature.
• Flat bottom foot 52 kg/m rail of high conductivity (specific resistance being seven times that of copper) also known as rimming steel is used as conductor of power at 750 V dc.
• Overall resistance 0.029 ohms per km.
3rd rail laid as specially prepared bed on the outer side of running track with insulating high density polyethylene inserts for fixing the conductor rail mounting assembly consisting of 3.3 KV porcelain insulator, galvanized mild steel frame work for mounting FRP shroud board on top and rear. 3.3 KV insulators are spaced at 2.50 mt apart .
Third Rail Laying System
Neutral section (air gap) is provided in the trailing direction of station platform at every traction station .
Length of N/section :15.50 mts; current collectors are spaced at 13.50 meters.
Neutral Section
Need for ventilation
To ensure supply of fresh Air for Passengers(O2)
To dilute obnoxious & hazardous gases
To bring down the relative humidity
To dispose of large quantity of heat by Traction Eq.,Auxiliary appliances, Human Body
To dispose of heat leaked inside the subway from the surrounding soil
Air Ventilation Design criteria
Fixing Up Ambient Condition (90% of day of any season) from last 5 Year Record from Metrological Department at 10 Hrs. when peak Traffic Occurs.

Summer 36 55
Monsoon 33 70
Winter 27.2 57
Because of pollution and Dust, Air washery had been provided at every fresh air intake. Now at Esplanade station, dry air filters have been provided & air washery closed to save electricity consumption.
