Metabolism Matters Your metabolism tells you how many calories you need to lose,
gain or maintain weight. Tracking metabolism gives you the
missing information needed to reach your goal. Metabolism
accounts for 75-95% of the calories your body burns. Metabolism
matters. Knowing your metabolism can prevent the yo-yo pattern
of weight gain after initial weight-loss, help you find the most
effective exercise program and provides a more complete picture
of health.
Basal Metabolic Rate Testing
Your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the amount of energy your
body burns at rest. This changes with age, stress, activity levels,
diet, pregnancy, illness, medications and other factors. Knowing
your personal BMR provides a more complete picture of your
energy needs. Most clinics utilize calculations for estimating
metabolism and energy needs however these calculations are just
estimations and not personalized for you.
The Mankato Clinic utilizes a Breezing device which measures the
consumed oxygen rate and produced carbon dioxide rate through
indirect calorimetry, the gold-standard method recommended
by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the World Health
Organization and others.
Breezing gives you the precise metabolic information you need
to reach your weight goals.

THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS FOR OBTAINING YOUR BMR THROUGH MANKATO CLINIC:
