• RC forms part of our Literacy Project (VPUU Priority Projects of library)
• Date 16 March 2016 @ Groenheuwel Primary School
• 4 Schools will participate with Langabuya primary as guest school –isiXhosa readers

• PRACTICAL READING SESSIONS
• Our Practical reading session kicked off yesterday -2 February ‘16
• Learners/Contestants get practical reading session by the staff.
• Each learner has its own profile with information captured on his reading abilities
• Staff assist the learners every Tuesday & Thursday with reading @ library

Conclusion
• The Programs and activities was a huge success.
• Through these programs we succeeded in addressing the objectives of VPUU, to address crime directly and indirectly
• We promote the VPUU methodology
• We instill pride and dignity by each and every participant (children of our future) Groenheuwel and Chicago community
• Through these programs we boost their self-confidence
• We encourage reading, which contributes to a “literate” community.
• We learn them to take ownership within their communities.
• Through our programmes we reached a total of 760 children
