What Men Do

White Men cause warsBlack Men hurt communitiesZealous Men terrorize the worldGreedy Men ruin the economySelfish Husbands destroy marriagesAbsent Fathers fail their childrenEtc., Etc,.

“Men are responsible for what’s wrong in this world”

Man’s main role is one of STEWARDSHIP.

STEWARDSHIP

Managing something on behalf of another.

Men are chief stewards of…

1.The Creation

Genesis 1:26

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Genesis 1:27

27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 1:28

28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Genesis 1:29

29 Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree

which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;

Genesis 1:30

30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so.

As Christian men we are still responsible for the creation

until Jesus comes.

I Corinthians 11:1-3

11 Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.2 Now I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the traditions, just as I delivered them to you. 3 But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.

If God makes you “Head” you don’t have to apologize for

your leadership role.

I Timothy 3:1

3 It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.

I Timothy 3:2

2 An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

I Timothy 3:3-4

3 not addicted to wine or pugnacious, but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money. 4 He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity

I Timothy 3:5-6

5 (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?), 6 and not a new convert, so that he will not become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil.

I Timothy 3:7

7 And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he will not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

I Timothy 3:8

8 Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not double-tongued, or addicted to much wine or fond of sordid gain,

I Timothy 3:9-10

9 but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 These men must also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons if they are beyond reproach.
