Marjorie Ferguson Identified four types of facial expressions for women:• Chocolate Box• Invitational• Super-Smiler• Romantic or Sexual

Chocolate Box• Half or full smile• Lips together or slightly parted• Teeth barely visable• Full or three-quarter face to camera

Invitational • Emphasis on the eyes• Mouth shut, only a hint of a smile• Head to one side or looking back to camera

Super-Smiler• Full face• Wide toothy smile• Hair often wind blown• Head forward or chin thrown back

Romantic or Sexual

• Male and Female ‘two-somes’• Overtly sensual or sexual

Trevor Millum He identified five types of facial expressions for both women and men:

• Carefree• Practical• Seductive• Comic• Catalogue

Carefree• Often smiling or grinning• Active• Vibrant

Practical• Concentrating• Mouth closed• Sometimes a slight frown• Engaged on the business at hand

Seductive• Similar to ‘cool’/‘level’ look.• Eyes less wide• Less reserved but still self-sufficient and confident• Slight smile possible

Comic• Deliberately ridiculous• Exaggerated • Pulling faces for benefit of the viewer

Catalogue• Neutral look• Artificial• No personality• Eyes most likely open wide and a smile but look remains vacant• Wax like
