What is MAP™?

MAP - Measures of Academic Progress Achievement tests Delivered by computer Taken three times a year

How does MAP work?

Questions appear on the computer screen

Test will adjust to an appropriate level as the student answers questions

It will build a test just for each student individual student’s level!

Why take MAP tests?

To find out exactly where the student is performing

To help the teacher know what the student should be working on to improve

The first screen looks like this.

The student will see their name as shown on the

screen.

The student clicks on the “Start Test”

button to begin.

After the Test

• After a class tests administrator will upload tests to NWEA •NWEA will make reports available with in 24 hours to the school•Each student will be assigned a RIT level in that subject

What is the RIT?

•RIT stands for Rasch Unit•The RIT scale is used to chart student growth•Grade equivalents can be determined on the RIT Status Norms of RIT scores
