Summer population exceeds 25,000

Critical Infrastructure

OB wastewater collection and treatment system serves the heavily populated downtown and commercial areas

Three primary wastewater pump stations serve 90% of the wastewater system, and are located within newly mapped FEMA 100 yr flood plain

Stations have already had flood impacts

Bath House Pump Station

Lake Ave Pump Station

Dukes County Road Pump Station

The Project

Design and construct modifications to

these pump stations to ensure safe

operation during a 100 year flood event

Elevate all electrical service and control

panels above flood elevations

Construct elevated platforms for emergency

generators

Install protective flood panels around pump

stations

Sea Level Rise & Project Design

Design will be based upon a SLR

projection of 3.9 feet by Year 2100

(“intermediate-high” scenario)

Pump Station infrastructure has a

design life of 40 years

40 year SLR projection = 1.5 feet

Budget

Total project cost: $250,000

Match amount: $62,500

Grant award: $187,500
