Beginnings In 1970s, land reclamation was carried out

at Marina Bay, forming what is today the Marina Centre and Marina South areas.

In 2008, Marina Barrage was built, turning Marina Bay and Kallang Basin into a new downtown freshwater Marina Reservoir, providing water supply, flood control and a new lifestyle attraction.

This is possible only due to our government being able to anticipate change and stay relevant, a key factor of a good government.

Development of MBS The Marina Bay Sands

is an example of how the government anticipates change and stays relevant. The Marina Bay Sands helps Singapore to boost its economy by attracting foreign investors to Singapore.

The gray portions of the building blocks are buildings that are already built while the white portion are buildings that are yet to be built.

Integrated Resort provided more entertainment options to the area this brought about more tourists. Hence bringing about more profit for the country

Hotels: For tourists to stay at while having their tour/investors to bring about economic growth.

Shopping centres: for people to visit

Casino: A place for entertainment while the government earns profit

Purpose of the MBS The Government build the MBS so as to

improve the economy of the country and to improve the quality of life in Singapore.

The Government attracts numerous investors to help in the building of the MBS which requires a huge amount of $$$.

MBS held many banks which is essential for the strong economy of Singapore. Without MBS, Singapore's economy will be greatly affected.
