Cape Henlopen Senior Center The senior center, located in downtown Rehoboth, needs interested volunteers to help with the
following:
Teach a sewing class
Bingo Night: bingo callers and a Penny Bingo cashier needed
Casa San Francisco
Located in Milton, Delaware, Casa San Francisco provides a wide range of services aimed at helping
low-income residents of Sussex County. They have an emergency shelter, emergency food pantry
and a food cooperative that serves Sussex County. Volunteers are needed to help with clerical
positions, such as answering phones at the front desk and filing. Volunteers are also needed in the
Food Pantry to organize and stock shelves.
CHILD ADVOCATES NEEDED
The Office of the Child Advocate- Court Appointed Special Advocate Program (CASA) of Delaware is
expanding its efforts to represent the interests of abused and neglected children. The program is
seeking qualified adults to serve as CASA volunteers.
CASA volunteers are trained members of the community who are appointed by a Family Court
Judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court proceedings. The
CASA volunteer conducts an independent investigation into the child’s life and provides information
and recommendations to the Judge. CASA volunteers work with attorneys, social workers, and family
members to attain the goal of a safe and permanent home for each child.
CASA volunteers have varied professional, educational and ethnic backgrounds. They are selected
on the basis of their objectivity, competence and commitment. Each volunteer accepted into the
program must complete 30 hours of initial training. Casework supervision is provided by full time
Program Coordinators.
The problems of child abuse and neglect belong to all of us.

iTN Southern Delaware
ITN Southern Delaware is looking for a volunteer who is experienced in the use of QuickBooks. They
can start volunteering as soon as possible. ITN has office space in the Milton CHEER Center. If you
are interesting in supporting individuals in Sussex that can no longer drive, this is an opportunity to
help, without driving.
Overfalls Foundation
The Overfalls Foundation is seeking one (or more) volunteer(s) to help restore two lightship models to their former glory.
Ideally the person(s) will have model ship building or related experience, but most importantly
attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision. The restoration work is self-paced
and can be accomplished in your own home.
Pathways to Success
Pathways to Success mission is to prepare youth, adults and their families for successful lives. They
have given 1,000+ youth and their families guidance and support. The program is available at Cape
Henlopen High School, Seaford High School and Sussex Technical High School. Since 2006, the
graduation rate is 98%. They are looking for volunteers to act as:
Special event coordinators - experience in planning special events.
Fundraising assistance - experience acquiring raffle items and asking for monetary donations.
Grant writing – experience in researching and writing grants.
The Way Home
Located at 7 South King Street (2nd Floor), Georgetown, DE, The Way Home, Inc. is seeking
volunteers with strong data entry skills who would like an opportunity to use those skills to benefit a
non-profit. The Data Entry Assistant will assist The Way Home staff with compiling and entering data
into their case management system. The hours can be flexible, Monday through Friday, during
normal business hours. This volunteer position could be a great resume builder for those looking to
get back into the job market.

Advisory Committee on Aging & Adults with Physical Disabilities for
Sussex County
The mission of the Advisory Committee on Aging & Adults with Physical Disabilities is to promote and
advocate for the aging and adults with physical disabilities in Sussex County. The committee’s
responsibility is to work with the Sussex County Council ensuring that residents of Sussex County are
offered the best quality of life possible.
You are welcome to join them at the next meeting, May 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
This meeting will be held in the Sussex County Administrative Office – West Complex, 22215 DuPont
Blvd., Georgetown, Delaware 19947.

OTHER ACTIVITIES Cake Walk & Survivors Cake Walk: Cake Walk games are by City Hall and will take place throughout the
night. Our special Survivors Cake Walk will take place at 7:15 PM by City Hall.
Duck Dip will be at Gateway Park: During the evening, stop by Gateway Park and purchase a duck to float in
the fountain in support of those impacted by breast cancer. You can purchase ducks for $5 each or 3 for $10 (purchase tickets
online). At 8:00 PM we will dip one lucky duck. The lucky duck winner will receive a gift certificate for a package donated
by The Day Spa at the Marina.
Fundraisers: All money raised from merchandise and raffle sales goes to help with expenses for women who cannot
otherwise afford a mammogram or other breast cancer diagnostic testing. All money helps women in Western Sussex
County. See items for sale.
Man Cave: Featuring tasting by 3rd Wave Brewing Co. Location to be announced!
Memory Wall at Gateway Park: Free to everyone, stop by Gateway Park to sign the Memory Wall in honor,
memory or celebration of someone you love or care about who has been affected by breast cancer.
Preston Automotive Group Drive to Inspire Vehicle : Free to everyone, be sure to sign the Preston Drive to
Inspire vehicle located near the Nanticoke Foundation.
Survivor Sashes: Survivor Sashes are again available and sponsored by Spicer Bros. Construction. You can pick up
your Survivor Sash at City Hall.
Mel’s Race for a Cure – begins in front of City Hall at 7:30 PM:
Held in honor of Melody Booker-Wilkins, this fun “run” will have teams of two local male celebrities
navigating an obstacle course in women’s heels. This activity is free to watch and is held in conjunction with
the Melody Joy Foundation.
Throughout the evening, you can vote on the team you think will win by purchasing tickets. A sleeve of 6
tickets is $5 and will be sold in Gateway Park and at Linda Vista Real Estate. One lucky winner will be
drawn from the winning team’s basket to win a gift certificate from Massey’s Landing.
