Matthew 22
Matt 3:1 - In those days John the Baptist
came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of
heaven has come near.”
Matt 12:28 - 28 But if it is by the Spirit of God
that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of
God has come upon you.

Three shifts to be able to engage any person about any matter with totally honest Truth in total love
1. Looking at the person, not the issue
2. Asking God to give me His perspective on the person – and the issue
3. Recognizing my role as God’s agent of grace, keeping a divine appointment God had set, for which God had an agenda, and in which God would be faithful to speak if I would simply submit
The connecting point: Time Magazines April 3, 2017 cover asks the question “Is Truth Dead?” fifty years after the infamous 1966 cover asked “Is God Dead?”. From fake news stories to alternative facts, our culture is having conversations about truth.
The Disconnect: The “post-truth” culture is a result of rejecting absolutes, authority and meaning that come from knowing the living God. Many believe the lie of individualized truth, as if it can be constructed from experiences, relationships and ideas.
The reconnect, a Christian Worldview Response: As Christians, we know truth is not just a concept but a person. We walk with the One who is the Truth (John 14:6). We stand with Him in opposition to the lies and the Father of Lies who even now is deceiving many.
Keep the conversation going: Is it possible to know something as absolutely true? What do we do with the truth onece we know it? What does that mean for life’s big questions?
Communicate: At least we’re talking about the truth as something that can be known, identified and sorted out from lies. That’s progress in a culture prone to object to claims of objective truth. Our tendency to malign the truth is not a left problem or right problem. Theologians call it total depravity.
Apply: As people of the One who is the truth, this is an issue of witness. Christians who tell lies and defend liars, in any area of life, cannot then be trusted to tell the truth about Jesus.
11 He came to that which was his own, but his
own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did
receive him, to those who believed in his
name, he gave the right to become children
of God—
Prov 8:15: By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just;
Daniel 2:21-He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. 37 Your Majesty, you are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory; 38 in your hands he has placed all mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds in the sky. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all.
7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
13 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.
Deut 6:5 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.,
Lev 19:18 18 “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

The LORD says to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”

his Son, who as to his earthly life was a
