School Preference of NDKC-IBED Senior Students

High school years is not the end of students life.Definitely after 4 years in high school, they wouldproceed to college to any schools they prefer andenroll in courses their abilities are best fitted. Here in Kidapawan City, NDKC is one of thecompetitive school that offers not just elementaryeducation, high school education, but also collegeeducation.

But it was found out that most of the studentsfrom the NDKC-IBED high school department would not enroll to NDKC for their collegedegree. They would prefer schools outsideKidapawan City.So we, students of math 421 Investigation and Modeling would like to determine why NDKCsenior students would prefer other schoolsinstead of NDKC.

Statement of the ProblemThe researchers would like to determine theschool preference of senior students of NDKC-IBED.Specifically it sought to answer the following questions:1. What is the profile of the students in termsof:

a. genderb. agec. parents incomed. school preference of the students

2. Is there a significant relationship between school preference and gender of the respondents?

3. Is there a significant relationship of school preference and age of the respondents?

4. Is there a significant relationship between school preference and parents income of the students?

5. What are the school preferences of the respondents?

6. What are the reasons for considering NDKC as a school to study college?

7. What are the reasons for not considering NDKC as a school to study college?

Assures job after graduation.

RECOMMENDATIONS

• The school should look into offering computer engineering course since there is a possibility that NDKC-HS students will enroll in the program.

• There is a need to further intensify the nursing degree program through upgrading its curriculum, provide better facilities and instruction since there is a potential clientle from NDKC-HS.

• The school should look into the offerings of short term courses such as care givers, midwifery and nursing aid.

• The school should upgrade facility such as laboratories for science, computer, and engineering.

• The administrator should look into the content of the curriculum whether to alter or modify such subjects and make it more organize.

• The administrators should look into the teachers’ effectiveness, and competitiveness for better instruction.

• Teachers should focused on the students learning and strive more to offer quality education.
