21Master in Supply Chain Management & Logistics
We make it happen
From Paraguay to Barcelona. What was initially planned to be a year’s tuition for Anahi Arza Ortega, has ended up radically changing her life. So much so that, after graduating from the Master in Supply Chain Management at EAE and getting CSCMP certification, Anahí got a job with Amazon as an Area Manager, and has now been living in the Catalan capital for three years.
What situation were you in when you decided to take the Master in Supply Chain Management at EAE? I was living in Paraguay. I had finished my Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering 10 months before and I was working as a consultant, mainly implementing ISO 9001 quality management systems. I had always been interesting in the field of Supply Chain Management and I wanted to make a change in my professional life. However, in Paraguay, there are no specialist qualifications or Master programs in this sector, so I started looking for options with the idea of combining professional training with an experience abroad, and I found the program offered by EAE. It filled all the criteria of what I was looking for, as it covered all the basic aspects, which I did not know about at the time, as well as a more in-depth insight into the most important issues in Supply Chain and Operations. Moreover, it included management topics, which are also important for well-rounded training.
What was your experience like with respect to the faculty? There were really great lecturers on the Master, who were professionals in the field with a great deal of experience
in the different areas they teach. This ensures that the knowledge acquired on the Master is always up-to-date and relevant. This is a sector characterized by constant change and it is really important to keep your knowledge updated and keep up with what is going on, as well as future trends.
What was the experience like with your classmates? Did you have the opportunity to network? Not only did I build great friendships with classmates on my program, but also with people on other Masters, who I am still close friends with to this day. Sharing the experience with people from different countries and backgrounds enabled me to learn from their experiences, ways of working and cultures. This adds an incalculable value to the program as it teaches you to be more flexible when working in multicultural environments, which is the case of pretty much all companies nowadays.
Has the knowledge you acquired been applicable in your professional life? Without a doubt, I now apply what I learned on the Master on a daily basis. Once you have acquired knowledge on the different issues, it is then much easier to understand each company’s processes. Moreover, it also enables you to make various proposals for improvement.
Has it been useful in terms of your professional progress? After my time at EAE, both my professional and personal life have taken a 180 degree turn. When I decided to come, my plan was to do the Master and then return to my country to apply my knowledge. However, opportunities came up right here. As a result, I have now been living in Barcelona for more than three and a half years! In addition, I had the opportunity to form part of the launch team for Amazon’s Fulfilment Center, one of the most modern installations
in Europe, as well as being part of a company that is a pioneer and a leader in the sector.
Did it enable you to update your knowledge? As well as the Master itself, EAE gave us the opportunity to prepare for and sit the examination for the SCPro Level 1 certification (Supply Chain Professional) of the CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals). In addition, I managed to get a certificate for English that is recognized in both the USA and Europe. However, more importantly, I am now a Board Member of the Spain Round Table as a Young Professional, which not only enables me to I keep my knowledge up-to-date, but also to network.
Do you remember a special story from your time at EAE Business School? Of all of the experiences, the one that stands out was the people I met and the times I shared with them. The days in class, the hours spent working away from the classroom, the weekends, trips away, etc. In short, friendships that you can build in just a few months but that last for many years.
Would you recommend EAE? Why? Absolutely, because, in my opinion, the program is designed to cover the most relevant aspects of the specialist area, as well as having lecturers with a wealth of experience, which ensures that the content is always relevant and up-to-date.
To finish off, what are you taking away with you from your time at EAE? All the friendships with the people I met and the fact that it led to such a significant change in my life. The last two years have been full of opportunities that have constantly taken me outside my comfort zone, but which have been great sources of satisfaction, as well as personal and professional growth.

both my professional
and personal life have taken a

FINANCIAL AIDAt EAE, we believe that there should be no barriers to access to education and personal development. With this in mind, if your application is accepted, you can take advantage of a financial aid plan with special financing conditions so that you can afford to fund your studies more easily. Your Admission Advisor will give you all the information on financial aid and grants.
ADMISSION APPLICATION
Candidates must complete the admission application by filling in a form on which they specify they meet the academic and professional requirements stipulated, which vary depending on the Master or program that they want to take.
PERSONAL INTERVIEW
If their profile is suitable, a personal interview is scheduled with their Admission Advisor, who evaluates their curriculum and interest. This Advisor will be their point of contact from this stage onwards. The interview is a key stage of the admission process and it is also a tool to help to guide candidates who do not have a clearly defined objective and need to redirect their professional path.
A RIGOROUS ADMISSION PROCESS IN 5 PHASESTo ensure candidates’ suitability, all participants must go through an admission process comprised of the following phases:
REGISTRATION
SUBMITTING DOCUMENTATION
Once the interview has been successfully conducted, candidates have to complete the admission form and certify their academic and professional experience with their curriculum, the relevant qualification certificates and a letter of reference or recommendation. On some programs, it is also necessary to accredit the candidates’ language level and take an admission test to assess their knowledge in specific areas.
EVALUATION
In the next phase, the Admission Board analyses the candidates’ file and the report with the conclusions of the personal interview. The Board has the final word. It assesses the information and decides whether the candidate has a suitable profile to take the Master or program requested.
ADMISSION
Lastly, the Admission Advisor informs the candidate of the Board’s decision and, if they have received a positive evaluation, they are given all the information they need to enrol on the program.
