Marathon Race Hong Kong 2007

Ladies and gentlemen, today is 31st December,

2007. Welcome to Marathon Race Hong Kong 2007. I’m Chris Wong, the host of this

event.

Let’s introduce our route. The starting point is the Giant Buddha on Lanta

u Island.

Here is the Giant Buddha. It is adjacent to Po Lin Monastery. It weighs 200 tonnes. All runners are r

eady. Get, set, go!

Runners run along the Tsing Ma Bridge, the

world’s longest road-and-rail suspension bridge, and one of the “Top 10 Construction Achievements of the 20th Cen

tury”.

Runners run pass the Clock Tower. It was built in 1921. Originally, it was part of the former Hung Hom Train Stati

on.

Runners run pass Wong Tai Sin

Temple, one of most famous shrines in

Hong Kong. Look! A runner is drinking

water here.

Runners run through St. Stephen Beach in

Stanley, a famous tourist attraction in

Hong Kong. The beach is sandy.

Runners run along a busy road in

Causeway Bay. The rent in the shopping areas of Causeway Bay is ranked the

second in the world.

This is the 1st girl who arrivals Expo

Promenade. Expo Promenade was built to

Commemorate the establishment of the

HKSAR on 1 July 1997.

Wor! Here she comes. The winner of the event finally arrivals

the Peak Tower.

Now, all runners have finished the race and gathered around here – the Peak Tower which allows visitors to enjoy views over Vic

toria Harbour.

We enjoy “a symphony of lights” together. It has

been awarded the world's "Largest Permanent

Light and Sound Show" by Guinness World

Records.
