Variations in Indian Climate
India has different climates.
In the South, the climate is mainly tropical, whichmeans it can get very hot in summer and cool inwinter.
The northern part, though, has a cooler climate, calledsub-tropical, and even alpine in mountainous regions.
The Himalayas, in the alpine climate region, can getextremely cold.
There is very heavy rainfall along the west coast and
in the Eastern Himalayan foothills. The west, though, is drier. The deserts attract water-
filled winds from the Indian Ocean, which give rainwhen they come into India. When the monsoon rainscome late or not so heavily, droughts are possible.

In coastal areas the life is little bit tough. The main line of business is fishing andtransportation through sea. As the climate
is quite humid so people wear less/ cottonclothes. It rains a lot in these areas sotheir houses are made rain proof withslanting roofs so that water is not
accumulated.
