broadband and 16.7million mobile subscribers.

Most of the inventory is located outdoors

Telcos cover nearly all the buildings and roads

The services offered to customers are strictlydependent on the infrastructure

Why Spatial Is So Important For Telcos?

dependent on the infrastructure

To solve a customer complaint, all infrastructurefrom customer to Exchange Office must beidentified which is mostly under the ground and inthe buildings

Core spatial abilities like length, area, distance areso important in planning, investment andmarketing

Turk Telekom GIS – How We Started

Gathered all infrastructure data (Areacabinets, copper cables, manholes, pipes, duct ,fibers, poles) from rasters and each data is digitized one by one

Get Customer data from CRM and BroadBandBandwith for each customer from NMS Bandwith for each customer from NMS (Network Management Systems) to matchand geocode of customers due to Access Network (18 million customers)

Gathered Spatial data (Buildings, roads, parks, raildroads etc.) from outer systems

Turk Telekom GIS- Spatial Apps

 Broadband Speed Map

 Online Incident monitor Map

 Arpu Analysis Map

 FiberAtlas (Public App)

 Fiber Coverage Map

 Customer Penetration Map

 Access Network Planning

 Mobile Sales App

 Mobile Progressive Payment App

 How to keep data alive?

Does the system can live without managerialsupport?

 Is data verified?

ADDRESS SYSTEM

Set GIS as the master database of outdoorinfrastructure

For budget and FTTx System assigments allplans must be gathered via GIS and completethe work flow

By Reversing Integration Directions

To connect a customer to FTTx systems and sella service, all FTTx data is sent from GIS to CRM

Constructers have to enter all data to getpayment for labour and equipment to the GIS.Data send from GIS to Payment System

 Database version: Oracle 11g R2

 Spatial Database Size : 10Terabytes

 400Gbytes monthly increase

Turk Telekom GIS- Database

Active Standby Database for offloading read-only works

In case of GIS DB unavaibility, all work flows stops so highavaibility and high consistency is our major issue.
