two part survey conducted overfive weeks from June to July. However, unlike the final round, the preliminary phase of the sur-vey, based on the perception ofstudents, faculty members, alumni and human resourcemanagers, also evaluated a totalof 74 engineering and technologyinstitutions in Delhi NCR alongwith institutions from Meerut,

Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad,Varanasi and Agra in UttarPradesh. A total of 400 respon-dents comprising students, par-ents, HR experts and faculty members took part in the perception study.

“We followed a 360 degreeapproach to the survey by look-ing at both hard facts as well asmarket perceptions,” said

Mehta. “Perception of the mar-ket is never far away from an institute’s performance,” he said. “The survey limited theweightage of perceptual data toas much as 40 per cent. Theremaining 60 per cent was con-tributed by information provided by the institutes in thefact sheets provided to them,”said Mehta.
