IntroductionA magneto rheological damper or magneto rheological shock absorber is a damper filled with magneto rheological fluid, which is controlled by a magnetic field, usually using an electromagnet. This allows the damping characteristics of the shock absorber to be continuously controlled by varying the power of the electromagnet.

MR-DAMPER IN AUTOMOBILE

4

Aim & Objective

The aim of the project is to fabricate an MR-damper which can absorb maximum vibration or shock.

5

Features of MR-Damper

• Absorbs more vibration.

• Simple hardware.

• Requires low power.

• Controllable damping.

• Easy to control

• Have higher magnitude of yield stress

Conclusion

• From this we conclude that it has approach of controlling the response of a quarter car vechilemodel traversing a rough road with semi-active MR damper suspension.

• The MR damper performance is sought to be better as compared to the conventional passive damper system.
