Inspiration

Concept Statement: A re-designed resource library that providesa systematized approach to organization.The active learner will benefit from anincreased access to technology, well defineddisplay areas, product storage, openshelving, logical cabinetry and a sharedconference learning space. As a moderncollaborative space, the new resource libraryis the best exposure to a professional real-life design studio.

Design Goal: Utilizing dynamic environments andsmart + connectivity, the classroom oftomorrow aims to provide a creative andinnovative space for an improved studentexperience. Advantageously, this movesthe student from passive learning intoactive engagement.

Research to Implementation:

o Versatile storage and organizational optionsCombining different sizes of drawers, cabinets and cubbies allows for different materials to be stored appropriately and maintain order.

o Collaborative workspaces Utilizing large tables, integrated with technology, encourages individuals and groups to share ideas and discuss projects.

o Minimal aesthetic Incorporating whites, black, wood tones and pops of blue allow the eye to focus on the materials selected rather than conflict with the surfaces they are arranged on.

o Universal designThe design focuses on accessibility, allows for wheelchair space and traffic flow.
