Music Business Content Management System

Loud Feed, Inc. is seeking parties interested in an Open Source Music CMS

The next slide shows a Use Case diagram, which highlights possible extensions that could be written to expand the current functionality. The Loud Feed code base currently resides at GitHub and will soon be opened up to public access under a GPL Open Source license. The remainder of the slides in this presentation are annotated screen shots of the current application in use.

Objects (e.g. labels, artists, albums, songs, promotions) are either:Not ReadyReadyorPublished

Certain data are required to be "ready."

Enter the data to make a Label "ready" and then "publish" when your ready for it to be live on your web site.

Search for artists Filter by status (ready, not ready or published)Get an RSS feed of content for a particular artist

Name is the only required field that must be entered for an artist.

The more data you enter for an artist the better your promotions and sales will be.

Search for albums Filter by status (ready, not ready or published)Get an RSS feed of content for a particular album. Many different websites can display content from these RSS feeds.

Required data fields for albums are highlighted.

Partially populated data can be saved and you'll see these albums highlighted as "Not Ready" in the initial view of the albums tab.

Additional data beyond what is seen here can be entered by clicking "advanced options" - shown in the next slide.

Album data entry in "Advanced options" - offer optional ways to add more value.

This dialog appears after you click "add a song" from the album page. Songs can be uploaded individually or in batch mode.

If you click "Advanced Options" in this song dialog box, the screen shown in the next slide will appear.

Additional data entered here can be used when making feeds available for multiple stores.

Loud Feed's customer Toolshed, doesn't sell music. They create electronic press kits and do promotions of new album releases for labels, providing digital assets for the web and for print.

Promotions have start and end dates during which the "published" content is live in RSS feeds.

Only a little information is required for a promotion to be "ready."

After adding a title and description, you can select albums from the "available list" and add them to the "selected list." Thus a promotion might market 2 albums you've "selected."

Like other objects in the system, shows also can be "not ready," "ready" or "published."

A show just needs a few bits of info to be ready.

Not only can you add multiple performers you can categorize them as headliner, etc.

Advanced info even lets you add the URL for the web page where tickets can be purchased. Thus, you can use ticketing services like Eventbrite where you're only fees are equivalent to a credit card transaction.

Displays of Albums can be categorized into front end display lists such as:- picks- new- popular

Just name a list and then select the albums you want to include in the list.

Get embeddable widgets like this "sales flow" that will produce an animated carousel of album cover art.
