Line Frequency – now Frequency – then
Gospel Oak – Barking (GOB)
Every 15 minutes, seven days a week
Every 20 minutes at peak times only, and every 30 minutes at other times
Stratford – Richmond (North London Line)
Every 7.5 minutes east of Willesden Junction at peak times
Every 15 minutes (or even every 30 minutes)
Clapham Junction –Willesden Junction (West London Line)
Every 15 minutes, with most trains running on to Stratford
Every 30 – 60 minutes
Highbury & Islington –West Croydon / Crystal Palace (East London Line)
Every 6 minutes on the core section rising to every 4 minutes once the extension to Clapham Junction opens in 2012
Then: 405 trains per weekday. Now: 945.

• Highly punitive performance regime• Regime based on ‘deemed’ minutes• Each deemed minute has a financial value• Every minute better than benchmark is
income for LOROL• But we also need to manage our suppliers• Concession also has strong focus on
passenger experience

PPM Improvements
• PPM annual average up from 91.06% at start of Concession to 96.50% currently
• Some reductions in causes of PPM failures are (not normalised for no. trains):– Passengers loading / unloading (87% reduction)– Anti-social behaviour / vandalism on trains / stations (81%)
• Concession Agreement contains PPM targets – penalties for not meeting them

Network Rail Relationship
• Joint Performance Improvement Process / Plan (JPIP)
• Regular dialogue with NR– JPR, JEG
• NR come to us – different routes in one room
• Collaborative approach to train running– Running fast for freights, running anti-icing trains

Key Initiatives
• Major infrastructure upgrades• Manning all stations – secure station status• 3-car to 4-car conversion & timetable review• Autumn prep – new fleet & driver briefing• Winter – anti-icing capability on 378 fleet• Review of Network Rail resource locations• Improvements to fleet and infrastructure
